After Six Months

The resident should meet with Gerald to discuss how the residency is progressing and if it is meeting the overall goals of the resident.

The resident should discuss with Gerald whether s/he is getting the kind of input, assistance, etc. from his/her mentor that the resident needs or expects. Gerald should also discuss with the resident whether his or her expectations are appropriate.  Based on this discussion, the relationship with the mentor should either continue as is or be changed to suit the resident’s needs. If it is not possible for the mentor to make the requested changes in the relationship, Gerald and the resident should explore finding a new or second mentor.

Gerald and the resident should discuss any additional equipment or training needs of the resident.

Gerald and the resident should discuss if the resident's work is satisfactory and meeting the needs of  his or her rotation supervisor, of the department, and of UNCG Libraries.
