Gerald and the resident should schedule a meeting to discuss the scorecard and
what, if anything, needs to be changed to make the resident more successful.
If needed, schedule a meeting between Gerald, the supervisor of current rotation, and the resident to discuss any
changes/training/etc. that needs to be changed in order to make the current rotation
successful.
During the third month the resident should decide on a second rotation.
Gerald should contact department supervisor so
s/he can begin planning for the arrival of the resident both logistically and thinking of possible projects.
Gerald should ask the supervisor to send an email to the
department (or discuss it during a department meeting) regarding
articles/websites/presentations that staff have found useful in providing basic
information useful for the next rotation as well as useful, interesting, and/or
current trends articles. The number of information suggested can vary. The supervisor can also speak with staff regarding possible projects and how this may effect deadlines and other time commitments.
